The translator is Dr. Jorge Corsi, a clinical psychologist and professor at the University of Buenos Aires. He is president of the Argentina Association for the Prevention of Family Violence, coordinator of male batterers' groups, and the author of "Family Violence" (1994) and "Male Violence in Couples" (1995), published by Editorial Paidos, Buenos Aires.
Daniel Jay Sonkin, Ph.D. is a licensed Marriage, Family and child Counselor in independent practice in Sausalito, California. His practice focuses on the treatment of individuals, couples and families facing a variety of psyhological problems including domestic violence and child abuse.
In addition to his clinical experience, he has testified as an expert witness in criminal cases where domestic violence is an issue. He also evaluates defendants facing the death penalty, conducting social histories with a focus on their childhood abuse and its impact on adult criminal behavior. As one of the early investigators and specialists in the field of family violence, he has developed a widely used protocol for treating male batterers. He has conducted trainings nationally and internationally for mental health professionals on the treatment of male batterers.
Currently he is a member of the State Ethics Committee of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, and a graduate lecturer in the Department of Counseling at California State University, Sonoma.
